Al Lamb & Associates strives to remove the mystery from telecommunications cost by revealing to clients exactly where the cost come from and how they can be reduced, without affecting quality of service.

Founded by Al Lamb in August 1995, the consulting practice delivers the benefits of over thirty-five years of Al's experience in the field of telecommunications.  He has a comprehensive understanding of the field, having worked in equipment maintenance, systems installation, sales support, and customer service.

When he left Siemens in 1996 to give the consulting practice his full attention, he committed to performing the hands-on work himself, the data collection, review and analysis...essentially all the major elements of the telecommunication audit, as his way of ensuring that his clients receive the highest level of attention.

He is one of a handful of industry professionals whose knowledge and experience spans the entire telecommunications spectrum.  His career includes a variety of management and leadership assignments with perennial industry leaders including AT&T, IBM, Satellite Business Systems (SBS), ROLM and Siemens.

Today, the significant accompishments of his career are being brought to bear in helping clients reduce the confusion and associated cost, which he knows, from experience, can be controlled.  While at AT&T he was recognized for setting up and maintaining the Medical College of Virginia's data network.  As a Manager at Satellite Business Systems he was asked to clear a backlog of complex customer service issues in New York City, a monumental task that took nine months.  During his tenure as an IBM Manager, he was sent to Hampton, VA to get the PBX installatiion of a large Government customer back on schedule.  The project was severely late and mounting up penalty fees of $3,600.00 per day.  Managing a team of 20 IBM employees and 150 contractors, Al completed the construction of 3 1/2 buildings, and the installation of 50 cabinets of PBX equipment on schedule.

His accomplishments as a Project Manager at ROLM, and a Customer Support Manager at Siemens continue the saga.  His reputation for attention to detail, business acumen and a stubborn passion for customer responsiveness, enable him to operate a consulting practice that only makes promises that can be kept.
